Senior CPC official meets young Japanese politicians

BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official on Monday met with a non-partisan delegation of young Japanese politicians led by Kiyohiko Toyama, a member of the New Komeito Party.

You Quan, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, said that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the signing of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship. Leaders of the two countries have reached important consensus on improving and developing bilateral ties in the spirit of the treaty.

You said the Chinese side is willing to maintain friendly exchanges with Japan's major political parties, enhance political mutual trust, and make positive contributions to the improvement and development of China-Japan relations.
