NANNING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The 2018 China-ASEAN International Touring Assembly (CAITA), together with the China-ASEAN Journalists Rally, will kick off in October in Lanzhou City, the capital of northwest China's Gansu Province.

The total length of the courses is around 10,000 kilometers.

Eighty racers from China and ASEAN countries will participate in the 20-day-long auto rally, which will start in China on October 31 and tour around in Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Malaysia before ending in Singapore.

The CAITA was first held in 2006 and has then become an important event of cultural exchange and communications between China and ASEAN countries.

Thirteen competitions including eight rallies, four fixed speed races and one kart race will be held and hopefully it will boost exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in the fields of sports, culture, economy and trade, according to Xie Qiang, deputy director of the Guangxi Sports Bureau.
