China Mining Resources Report 2018 released

TIANJIN, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The China Mining Resources Report 2018 was released Thursday at the ongoing China Mining Conference and Exhibition in Tianjin, showing that China's oceanic natural gas hydrate is estimated to be 80 billions of oil equivalent.

The report, compiled by the Ministry of Natural Resources, also shows that the country's potential oil reserves total 125.7 billion tonnes, with 30.1 billion tonnes recoverable.

The natural gas reserves are 90 trillion cubic meters with 50 trillion cubic meters recoverable, according to the report, while the country's shale gas reserves located above the depth of 4,500 meters underground is 122 trillion cubic meters, and reserves of coalbed methane located above the depth of 2,000 meters underground are 30 trillion cubic meters.

The report also estimated that China has 849 million tonnes of potential lead and zinc reserves, and 4.8 billion tonnes of manganese ore reserves.
