BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Top-ranked Shanghai SIPG didn't manage to grab a victory from Jiangsu Suning in a goalless tie on Sunday in the 26th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL), while defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande are just two points behind with four rounds to go this season.

Lv Wenjun headed the ball into the net off a Wu Lei assist in the 40th minute for the visiting Shanghai SIPG, but the goal was disallowed by VAR as Wu was offside before passing the ball.

Both teams had several opportunities to break the deadlock, but neither managed to capitalize on them. After the scoreless tie, Shanghai SIPG remain in the top spot of the table with 59 points, while Guangzhou Evergrande are two points behind after a 6-1 victory on Saturday.

Beijing Guoan tied Changchun Yatai 1-1. The visiting Changchun Yatai broke the deadlock at the end of the first half as the goalkeeper couldn't stop Zhang Li's deflected strike.

Beijing Guoan got a penalty kick in the stoppage time as their opponent committed a handball foul and Jonathan Soriano Casas scored from the spot for the host team to tie the game 1-1.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Henan Jianye beat Guangzhou R&F 2-0. Enditem
