Guangzhou ends Shandong's four-game CBA winning streak

BEIJING, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Kell ferger scored a game-high 31 points as Guangzhou defeated Shandong 94-80 to snap its four-game winning streak in the 13th round of the 2018-2019 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Sunday.

Guangzhou launched a 7-0 run at the very beginning of the match before Zhang Yongpeng helped Guangzhou expand the lead to 16 points.

From the second quarter, Guangzhou ulteriorly strengthened its attack and enlarged the advantage to more than 20 points. Although Shandong fought back in the final quarter to narrow the deficit to 10 points, it still couldn't turn the table.

Marreese Speights added 28 points and 7 rebounds for Guangzhou. Donatas Motiejunas of Shandong contributed 20 points.

With Yi Jianlian's excellent performance, Guangdong beat Shanxi 94-77 easily and stayed unbeaten.

In Sunday's other matches, Liaoning crushed Fujian 134-116, Qingdao won over Aolong 140-132, Shanghai hammered Xinjiang 105-95, Shenzhen lost to Jilin 104-105, Zhejiang upset Tianjin 117-111, and Guangsha downed Sichuan 120-99. Enditem
