ADEN, Yemen -- At least four members of Yemen's security forces were killed in a pre-dawn attack carried out by suspected al-Qaida gunmen in the southern province of Abyan early on Friday, a government official told Xinhua.

The government source, who asked to remain anonymous, said that a group of gunmen launched a multi-pronged attack against a security checkpoint in Mudiyah district, where terrorists have strongholds. (Yemen-Attack)

BAGHDAD -- At least seven people died in a wave of floods of torrential rain that fell on northern part of Iraq's northern central province of Salahudin, a provincial police source said on Friday.

The floods swept through many villages in Shirqat area, some 280 km north of Iraqi capital Baghdad, and completely covered the villages of Khadhraniyah, Horiyah and Jirnaf, leaving seven people dead, including women and children, while many people are still missing, Mohammed al-Jubouri told Xinhua. GAZA -- Around 100 Palestinians were wounded Friday during clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli soldiers stationed on the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, medics said.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza, told reporters that among the 100 injured, 14 were shot by Israeli soldiers' gunfire, including a child in critical condition. (Palestine-Israel-Clash)

TRIPOLI -- A group of militants on Friday attacked government buildings in the southeastern Libyan town of Tazerbu, killing at least five people, a military source said.

"An attack this evening targeted Tazerbu. Dozens of gunmen on armed vehicles carried out separate attacks on the police station and a number of government buildings, killing at least five people, mostly security men," the source said. (Libya-Militant-Attack) Enditem
