ISTANBUL -- At least three soldiers were killed and another injured on Monday when a military helicopter crashed in Istanbul, local media reported.

The helicopter fell on a street in the Sancaktepe district on the Asian part of the city, the NTV broadcaster said. (Turkey-Copter Crash)

TEHRAN -- At least 729 people were injured in the 6.4-magnitude earthquake that hit Sarpol-e Zahab city in Kermanshah Province in western Iran on Sunday, semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Monday.

SANAA -- A mother and her five children were killed in a Saudi-led coalition airstrike in Yemen's northwestern province of Hajjah on Monday, local residents and medics said.

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi forces on Monday launched several military operations to track Islamic State (IS) militants in areas in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala, a provincial security source said.

"A joint force from the Iraqi army and police, backed by aircraft, began multiple operations today to hunt down IS militants in seven agricultural areas in northwest of Diyala's capital Baquba," Mizher al-Azawy, commander of Diyala Operations Command, told Xinhua. (Iraq-Army-IS) Enditem
