DOHA -- Qatar will withdraw from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) as of January 2019, said a report by Qatar-based English newspaper Gulf Times on Monday.

The decision came after Qatar reviewed ways to enhance its role internationally and plan long-term strategy, said the report, quoting Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi. (Qatar-OPEC-Withdrawal)

SANAA -- A United Nations-chartered plane carrying 50 wounded Houthi rebel fighters on Monday left Yemen's rebel-held capital Sanaa for Omani capital Muscat for treatment, a Xinhua photographer witnessed.

The flight also carried 50 accompanying persons and three Yemeni doctors, a Houthi official told Xinhua. (UN-Yemen-Houthi)

TEHRAN -- Iran is against a U.S.-drafted resolution seeking to condemn the Palestinian Hamas movement in the United Nations, Press TV reported on Monday.

GAZA -- Four Palestinians were shot and injured on Monday evening during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip close to the border with Israel, the health ministry said.
