KUNMING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The 2018 "Wings for Love" Wingsuit Flying World Championship will kick off on December 29 in the Jinggu Dai and Yi Autonomous County of southwest China's Yunnan province.

The four-day event attracts the world's top wingsuit flyers, and new games will be held, such as reverse wingsuit flying for personal challenge and the wingsuit formation flying in the night to challenge the Guinness World Record, said Xu Kai, chairman of the championship committee.

Xu also revealed that Chinese famous wingsuit flyer Sheng Guangqiang will fly with a self-made hard-shell wingsuit during the competition.

The theme of the event is "flying for love," and the prize money will be donated to poor children this year.

Xu also said that Jinggu as the competition venue had the unique natural environment, stable weather conditions and high visibility for wingsuit flying, and that the championship committee was considering a winter training base in Jinggu. Enditem
