Guangdong extend unbeaten run to 16 games in CBA

BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Guangdong beat Shanghai 138-101 on Thursday to extend their winning streak to 16 games in the 2018-2019 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.

Shanghai squandered a 28-25 advantage in the first quarter as Guangdong made a strong surge in the second quarter with 69-50 at the break.

Although Scola of Shanghai tried to cut the gap with three-pointers in the second half, Guangdong had a more effective offence throughout the game.

Scola earned a game-high 34 points and 11 rebounds. Malcolm Delaney of Guangdong got a team-high 29 points, following by Zhao Rui's 23 points.

Sichuan suffered another defeat as they lost to Jiangsu 107-112. Jamaal Franklin of Sichuan contributed 47 points but could not turn the table.

In other matches played on Thursday, Bayi lost to Shenzhen 97-114, Fujian beat Tianjin 114-109, Qingdao won over Jilin 117-110, Aolong upset Shandong 107-104, Guangsha downed Zhejiang 104-99. Enditem
