1st LD-Writethru: Chinese shares close lower Monday

BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday led by securities brokers.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went down 0.82 percent, closing at 2,584.58. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.41 percent lower at 7,624.86.

Combined turnover on the two bourses shrank slightly to 240.6 billion yuan (34.87 billion U.S. dollars) from 240.89 billion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.

Citic Securities Company Limited fell 1.64 percent to close at 16.77 yuan. GF Securities Company Limited lost 2.83 percent to end at 13.03 yuan.

China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, or Sinopec, the country's largest oil refiner, bucked the trend by rising 1.02 percent to 5.92 yuan. PetroChina Company Limited, China's biggest oil producer, increased 0.66 percent to 7.62 yuan.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board, lost 1.06 percent to close at 1,326.85. Enditem
