BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Defending champions Liaoning defeated Shenzhen 120-99 in the 18th round for their seventh straight win in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league, while Guangdong overwhelmed Tongxi 124-106, leading the league with an amazing record of 18 consecutive wins.

Shenzhen made a good start at home and led the first half 26-24, 32-27. Lester Hudson scored 27 points in the third quarter, helping the visiting Liaoning to bounce back with a 43-20 run.

With two foreign guards Kenny Boynton (24 points) and Dwight Buycks (15 points) though, Shenzhen couldn’t take back the lead and saw their three-game winning streak snapped. Han Dejun, Li Xiaoxu and Brandon Bass all earned double-double for Liaoning.

“We had good preparation for the game, especially for the two foreign guards of Shenzhen,” said Liaoning head coach Guo Shiqiang. “They played good defense and counterattacks, but we had better three point shots and rebounds in the second half. ”

Guangdong crushed the home team in the first quarter 41-24 and Tongxi were not given any chance to steal a win. Yi Jianlian grabbed a double-double - 23 points and 12 rebounds. Sonny Weems scored a game-high 31 points.
