Canada leads in Qinghai International Curling Elite

XINING, China, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Canada topped both the men and women's standings, with 4-0 and 5-0 win-loss records respectively, in the Qinghai International Curling Elite after Sunday's matches.

In the men's actions in the afternoon, Canada fought tit for tat against the United States to tie for 7-all through the 8 ends, before Canada won one point in the extra end to grab the hard-fought victory.

In the women's actions in the night, Canada beat Finland 7-5.

China's team A edged Switzerland 5-4, and Russia defeated China's team B with 5-4, Chinese Junior team lost to USA 6-3.

"Finland played very well today, and it was a tough game. We knew we had to play pretty good in the last end, so we tried our best and met our shots," said Thiessen Teresa, Canada's third player. Enditem
