RABAT, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan security services have arrested an individual suspected of murdering two foreign tourists in a mountainous area in central Morocco, the Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday.
The bodies of the two women tourists, a Danish and a Norwegian, were found Monday in an isolated mountainous area some 10 km away from the tourist village of Imlil near the city of Marrakech.
According to the statement, the suspect was arrested in the tourist hub of Marrakech and was held in police custody as part of the ongoing investigation to determine the motive of this crime, identify and arrest those involved.
Imlil is a popular trekking and hiking destination, and many tourists and locals use it as a starting point to climb Toubkal Mountain, the highest in North Africa. Enditem
