TRIPOLI -- At least three people were killed and 10 others, including a paramedic, injured on Tuesday during a terrorist attack on the Libyan Foreign Ministry's headquarters in Tripoli, the health ministry said.

The attack occurred at 9 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), when a car bomb exploded right behind the ministry's building, a foreign ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Libya-Foreign Ministry-Terror Attack)

TEHRAN -- A bus carrying students overturned Tuesday on the campus of Islamic Azad University in Tehran, killing at least nine, official IRNA news agency reported.

CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi hailed on Tuesday the "bravery and vision" of late Egyptian President Anwar al-Sadat in making peace in the region.

During a televised speech marking a century since the birth of Sadat, also a Nobel Peace laureate, Sisi said that the 1973 war with Israel restored dignity for the Egyptian and Arab people and paved the way for Sadat to make peace. (Egypt-Sadat-Peace)

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian air defenses were triggered on Tuesday evening to a heavy Israeli missile attack that targeted areas in the countryside of the capital Damascus, according to the state media outlets.

The Israeli attack was carried out from inside the Lebanese airspace, said the state TV, adding that the air defenses have intercepted a number of missiles, some of which were intercepted while over Lebanon. (Syria-Israel-Missile) Enditem
