DAMASCUS -- The U.S. forces conducted the first withdrawal from northeastern Syria, 23 days after the decision of U.S. President Donald Trump to withdraw forces from Syria, a war monitor reported on Friday.

The U.S. forces started the first withdrawal operation from Syria on Thursday evening from Syria's northeastern province of Hasakah, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-US-Withdrawal)

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi rebels said they launched a drone attack on a Saudi military base in the kingdom's border city of Asir on Friday.

ADEN, Yemen -- A Huge fire broke out on Friday evening at the state-owned oil refinery company in Yemen's southern port city of Aden, causing no casualties, a local official told Xinhua.

"A huge fire erupted just minutes following an explosion that targeted one of the company's oil tanks," the official, also a worker of the refinery, said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Aden-Fire)

MANAMA -- U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Bahrain on Friday as part of his ongoing anti-Iran tour to the Middle East.
