ADEN, Yemen -- A new powerful explosion hit the the state-owned oil refinery in Yemen's southern port city of Aden on Saturday evening, injuring at least 15 workers, a security official told Xinhua.

"The fire that erupted one day ago extended to a new oil tanker and caused a huge explosion that injured more than 15 workers and firefighters inside the oil refinery," the local security source said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Aden-Explosion)

DAMASCUS -- About 300 Kurdish fighters were sent to the frontline areas with the Islamic State (IS) militant group in eastern Syria on Saturday, in preparation for the last stage of the anti-IS battles, a war monitor reported.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed by the U.S.-coalition, is bracing to eliminate the IS from the last two towns the militant group holds in the eastern Euphrates region in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour Province, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. BAGHDAD -- A local woman "apparently" killed two Islamic State (IS) militants by poison in revenge for the killing of her son and her husband by the extremist militants in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala, a local police officer said.

The two IS militants broke into the house of the 47-year-old widow, who is originally a relative to them, in a village located some 65 km northeast of Baghdad, and forced her to prepare a meal, the police officer told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-IS-Poison)

CAIRO -- Egypt's police killed six terrorists in a dawn raid on a hideout in Upper Egypt on Saturday, a statement by the Interior Ministry said.

The terrorists were killed in a shootout as the forces attempted to raid their hideout, which was located in a gorge in one of the mountainous areas along the western Assiut-Sohag desert highway, the statement said. (Egypt-Terrorists) Enditem
