KUWAIT CITY, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced on Wednesday that an urgent aid of 1.5 million U.S. dollars is on the way to Syrian refugees in Lebanon under directives of the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The aid came to ease the suffering of Syrian refugees in Lebanese camps, especially Al-Rukban refugee camp, which went under massive destruction because of harsh cold and blizzard winter, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) quoted Hilal Al-Sayer, KRCS chairman, as saying.

He added that a KRCS team will head to Lebanon on Thursday to distribute the aid and assess the needs of refugees in coordination with the Lebanese Red Cross. Enditem
