DAMASCUS -- At least 20 civilians were killed on Friday by U.S.-led airstrikes on an Islamic State (IS)-held area in Syria's eastern province of Deir al-Zour, state news agency SANA reported.

Women and children were among those killed by the airstrikes, which targeted the town of Baghus, one of the last two towns still controlled by the IS in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour. (Syria-U.S. Airstrikes-IS)

KUWAIT CITY -- Kuwait Friday held the International Food Festival in Ahmadi Governorate, with the participation of embassies from more than 30 countries.

Among them, the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait presented at the festival spring rolls, noodles, fried dumplings and cultural souvenir. Traditional Chinese handicrafts such as paper-cuts, folding fans, porcelain, lanterns and antithetical couplets are also displayed. (Kuwait-Food Festival)

TRIPOLI -- Spokesman of Libya's eastern-based army on Friday said the army killed three terrorist leaders in Al-Shati city in southern Libya.

Ahmad al-Misari said the army's operation chamber killed the three terrorists, including an Egyptian, at dawn after receiving information about presence of terrorists in the area. (Libya-Terrorists-Kill)

GAZA -- A wave of a severe coldness swept the region over the past two days, leaving the death of four new-born cubs in a zoo in Rafah city in southern Gaza Strip.

Fathi Jumaa, one of the zoo's owners, told reporters on Friday that "a lioness called Laila had given birth to four cubs on Wednesday morning; two of them died immediately and the two died later." (Gaza-Zoo-Cub) Enditem
