BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Beijing subway will offer passengers five more ticket options starting Sunday, according to the municipal commission of transportation.

Passengers can enjoy unlimited rides on all subway lines except for the airport express, with 1-day, 2-day, 3-day, 5-day and 7-day unlimited-ride passes.

Riders can download the Yitongxing app to purchase the e-tickets and take the subway.

A spokesperson with the commission said the new move would be convenient for visitors to Beijing, saving time and avoiding chaos in metro stations.

Beijing piloted mobile payment on its metro lines in 2017. The Yitongxing app has drawn around 11 million registered users.

Beijing's transport authorities will launch day pass valid for unlimited rides on the metro and buses in the future.

The national capital has 22 metro lines. The total length of operational subway lines in the city were extended to 637 km by the end of 2018. Enditem
