ANKARA -- Turkey condemns the European Parliament's decision to recognize Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido as interim president, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Friday, warning that foreign interventions could lead to a civil war in the country.

"Any foreign intervention in Venezuela is not right and will deepen the problem," Cavusoglu said in Romania. (Turkey-Venezuela)

GAZA -- A three-way meeting was held in Gaza on Friday to discuss internal reconciliation, said Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh.

BEIRUT -- An American official said Friday that while the United States is happy about the government formation in Lebanon, it is also worried over Hezbollah's participation in the new cabinet, local newspaper Al Joumhouria reported.

"The United States considers Hezbollah as a terrorist organization and it is worried the role it will play in the new cabinet especially that the party occupies important ministries such as the Health Ministry," the official said on condition of anonymity. (Lebanon-U.S.)

DAMASCUS -- A big explosion was reported on Friday near the house of a Kurdish-led militia commander in northern Syria, activists said.

TRIPOLI -- Libya's eastern-based army forces on Friday responded to an attack launched by Chadian opposition militants in southern Libya, according to a military source.
