JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met on the sidelines of the Warsaw conference on the Middle East on Thursday.

The conference, including foreign ministers from Middle Eastern countries, is "a historical turning point," said the Israeli leader at the start of the meeting, according to a statement issued by his office. (Israel-U.S.)

BAGHDAD -- Eight paramilitary Hashd Shaabi members were killed, including a group leader, and seven wounded Thursday in bomb attack in Iraq's northern central province of Salahudin, a provincial security source said.

"A Hashd Shaabi convoy was struck by two roadside bombs around noon, while heading to conduct a search campaign in al-Jazira area near the city of Samarra, some 120 km north the Iraqi capital Baghdad, killing eight Hashd Shaabi members and wounding seven others," Captain Hussam al-Jubouri from Samara's Operations Command told Xinhua. AMMAN -- Two police officers and a civilian were killed on Thursday when two landmines exploded in Jordan's west-central city of Al-Salt, according to a security source.

The two landmines exploded in Naqab Dabbour area, some 27 km west of the capital Amman, the source said on condition of anonymity. (Jordan-Blast-Death)

ALGIERS -- The Algerian army on Wednesday arrested three terrorist suspects in the western province of Oran and retrieved many weapons in the eastern province of Skikda, the defense ministry said Thursday.

The three are suspected of providing support to terrorist groups, as they were arrested by counterterrorism troops acting on intelligence, according to a ministry statement. (Algeria-Terrorist Suspects-Weapons) Enditem
