China customs seizes 4 ivory items

BEIJING, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Nanning Customs in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has seized four suspected ivory products, according to General Administration of Customs.

The four items, including three Buddhist ornaments and one human figure sculpture, weighed 208.7 grams in total.

They were found inside two packages respectively from New Caledonia and Cambodia.

The items will be handed over to labs for further confirmation, the customs said.

China banned all domestic ivory trade at the end of 2017 as part of its commitment to protecting wild animals. Enditem
