MUSCAT, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Social Club in Oman celebrated on Friday evening the upcoming Lantern Festival at the Chinese Center in capital Muscat.

The event was attended by China's Ambassador to Oman Li Lingbing, members of the Chinese community in Oman, Chinese embassy's staff and Omani guests.

The celebration included Chinese folkloric shows, music played by members of the Chinese community, and traditional show of Kung Fu.

"We are pleased to organize the celebration in cooperation with the Social Club ... The Lantern Festival marks an important occasion for Chinese, which comes 15 days after the Chinese Spring Festival," said Xin Hao, director of the Chinese Center in Oman.

"It was a pleasure for us that a big number of people from the Chinese community and our Omani brothers and sisters could attend the celebration," Xin added. Enditem
