BEIJING, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Four-time FINA Best Female Diver Shi Tingmao proved her reputation at China's qualification first leg here on Saturday as she swept victories in both individual and synchro 3m springboards.

Shi, double winner at Rio Olympic Games, dominated the individual event with 386.60 points, edging Wang Han, her synchro partner by 3.2 points. Later, the pair who have trained together for just three months, snatched 347.40 for the synchro title.

"I am not at my peak form today. I had some pressure on myself and also had technical problems during training. I will try to overcome the difficulties," said Shi, who has remained unbeaten since 2013 in all the events she competed.

"While for the synchro event, Wang Han is a great diver and both of us started at a high level though we have just trained together for three months. We need more time and competition to build up the synchronization," Shi said.

In the men's 3m springboard, world champion Xie Siyi scored 552.45 to top the standings, while Cao Yuan, who won 10m synchro platform with Chen Aisen on Friday, finished second on 527.75. Xie/Cao later claimed victory in the synchro event.

"I felt tired after competing in two synchro events and the 3m springboard individual within two days. It was not easy to deal both plat and springboard at the same time during the training and competition. It was a challenge, not only to my physical strength, but also to my mental power. I will try my best and make a good balance," Cao said.

Si Yajie celebrated a narrow victory in the women's 10m platform as she won in 402.20, beating the runner-up Chen Yuxi 401.40. Lin Shan came to third on 399.10 and edged two-time World Cup champion Zhang Jiaqi by 0.05.

"My stability helped me to win the event. I am not afraid of the youngsters. Who hasn't been young?" said Si, silver medalist in Rio Olympic Games.

Yang Jian led the men's 10m platform on 574.80 and Yang Hao was second 550.95. Olympic champion Chen Aisen finished the fifth.

According to the Chinese Swimming Association, it will host a two-leg qualifying meet to make selections for the FINA World Swimming Championships slated for mid July in Gwangju, South Korea. Enditem
