SHIJIAZHUANG, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Air pollution will linger in north China's Hebei Province in the coming ten days, authorities said Sunday.
Staring on Sunday afternoon, pollution will shroud the mid-south and eastern areas of Hebei. The pollution will ease a little on Feb. 24 and 25 due to a cold front, but will worsen again until Feb. 28, according to the provincial environmental authorities.
Cities in the mid-south and east have already launched emergency responses for the pollution. Experts have called on the public to decrease the frequency of lighting fireworks, as the period coincides with the Lantern Festival, which falls on Tuesday.
Local authorities have enhanced supervision on industries such as steel and cement. Enditem
