CAIRO -- The Egyptian interior ministry said on Tuesday that 16 militants were killed in the North Sinai city of Arish.

"The national security forces spotted two bases for terrorists who have planned for a series of terrorist operations against vital properties and important figures in remote areas in Arish," said a ministry statement. (Egypt-North Sinai-Raid)

JERUSALEM -- Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Tuesday his country will open a trade office in Jerusalem with "diplomatic status," announcing the controversial move during a visit to Israel.

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi security forces Tuesday found bodies of six civilians abducted the day before by Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq's western province of Anbar, a provincial security source said.

Security forces launched a search operation during the day to track eight civilians abducted on Monday by IS extremist militants at the desert near the town of al-Nukhib, some 300 km southwest of the provincial capital Ramadi, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-IS)

TRIPOLI -- Khalid al-Meshri, head of Libya's Higher Council of State, on Tuesday stressed the importance of the return of Turkish companies to Libya to resume suspended projects.
