Beijing to test subway lines for Universal Beijing Resort in September

BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Test operation is expected in September for two subway lines that take tourists to the Universal Beijing Resort, a theme park under construction in the eastern suburbs of Beijing.
The subway lines, the eastern extension of Line 7 and the southern extension of the Batong line, are under construction, the Beijing Tongzhou cultural and tourism district management committee said.
Construction broke ground for the theme park in Tongzhou in 2016.
The first phase of the project includes a park, two resort hotels and a Universal CityWalk retail-entertainment complex. Approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in September 2014, it covers four square kilometers. Enditem
