DAMASCUS -- The U.S.-led coalition on Saturday fired white phosphorus munitions on an Islamic State (IS)-held area in eastern Syria, state news agency SANA reported.

The shelling targeted the farmlands of the town of Baghouz, the last IS-held area in the eastern Euphrates River region in eastern Deir al-Zour province. (Syria-U.S.)

RIYADH -- Saudi Air Force will take part in Red Flag 2019, an international military drill held from March 3 to 16 in the United States.

The Saudi Air Force, along with the air forces from the United States, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Belgium, the Netherlands, and Singapore, will take part in the exercise, the second of its kind in 2019, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). (Saudi-Drill-U.S.)

CAIRO -- The Sharm El-Sheikh Asian Film Festival (SAFF) opened on Saturday in Egypt's Red Sea South Sinai province, with China as the guest of honor of the festival's third edition.

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi rebels said the convoy of the UN cease-fire monitoring chief Danish general Michael Lollesgaard was attacked in a frontline in the Yemeni Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on Saturday.

"The convoy of Lollesgaard came under fire in the 50th Street while driving back from the Red Sea Mills," the Houthis said in a statement carried by the group-controlled Saba news agency. (Yemen-Houthi) Enditem
