Shanghai SIPG, Beijing Guoan keep CSL winning streaks intact

XI'AN, March 9 (Xinhua) -- The defending champions Shanghai SIPG beat Jiangsu Suning 3-2 in the second round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Saturday, celebrating their maximum-point start into the new season.

SIPG broke the deadlock in the second minute when Wang Song made an own goal from Oscar dos Santos' pull-back. A few seconds later, Zhang Wei enlarged it to two with an angle shot.

Alex Teixeira Santos almost pulled one back for Suning in the 41st minute, but his close range header missed the target.

Lv Wenjun, who took over the place when striker Wu Lei joined the Spanish Liga Santander side Espanyol on January 28, scored the third for SIPG with a long shot in the second minute after the half break.

Substitute Xie Pengfei found the net twice for Suning in the 64th and 69th minutes, and almost celebrated his hat trick with his third goal being annulled for offside.

The league favorites Beijing Guoan smashed Chongqing SMW 4-0, keeping their winning record intact.

Jonathan Viera Ramos put Guoan ahead in the first minute, Cedric Bakambu added the second in 36th minute, Zhang Yuning scored the third and his first CSL goal in the 42nd minute, before Wang Ziming completed the scoring spree with a follow-up shot in the injury time.

In the other two matches on Saturday, Shandong Luneng tied Henan Jianye 2-2, Guangzhou R&F levelled with Dalian Yifang for a six-goal thriller.
