RABAT -- Morocco and the United States launched Saturday the 2019 edition of their annual military exercises named "African Lion" in southern Morocco.

The drills will be held until April 7 with the participation of thousands of military personnel, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces. (Morocco-U.S.-Drill)

ASWAN, Egypt -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi opened on Saturday the first edition of the Arab African Youth Platform in Aswan governorate in Upper Egypt.

During the events of the platform, which will conclude on Monday, 1,500 youths from various Arab and African countries will discuss the future of scientific research and healthcare, as well as the impact of advanced technology and innovation on Africa and the Arab region. GAZA -- Palestinian factions and political powers announced on Saturday that they support the popular protests in the Gaza Strip which have been going on for three days against the high living expense and the hard living situation.

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi rebels on Saturday threatened to launch ballistic missile attacks on Riyadh and Abu Dhabi if coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) attacked the Yemeni lifeline port city of Hodeidah.
