Comex 2019 opens in Oman

MUCAT, March 17 (Xinhua) -- The 29th Comex, Oman's leading event of IT, telecommunications and technology, was opened on Sunday under the auspices of Sayyid Kamil bin Fahad Al Said, assistant secretary-general of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers.

The event, which is organized by the Information Technology Authority (ITA), is held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center from March 17-19.

Over 110 premier exhibitors from 15 countries, including the United States, Saudi Arabia, France and Germany, are showcasing products on the exhibition held under the theme "Digitalizing the Future."

The highlights of this year's event are Comex business, e-Oman, and e-lifestyle.

Free tech talks, smart city conference with focus on Industry 4.0, e-lifestyle featuring cyberwar hackathon, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) zone, gaming area, cyber family awareness zone and smart home technology are drawing businessmen and the public alike.

The 30-minute tech talks shared valuable insights on current trends in technology and focused on how to use technology effectively to help organizations to harness new levels of data and how to secure stakeholders.

The cyberwar hackathon saw more than 100 computer enthusiasts participate in the live challenge for 24 hours. The winners will be announced on Tuesday. Seminars, workshops, interactive sessions, and networking are also part of the fun.

The AR/VR zone comprises a VR artist section that witnessed creative use of technology and a thrilling e-sports fantasy game, where a superhero was created and brought by HADO, the AR e-sports technology from Singapore.

To add more fun, pose for the world's coolest selfie at the VR photo booth. This trendy interactive 360° VR selfie can transform the way you share your experience with the world.

The gaming area features exciting games and fun activities while 3D game platforms bring alive rare real-time possibilities for game developers.
