XI'AN, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Shaanxi Province has established a work team to crack down on illegal activities in the Qinling Mountains.

The work team, established by the province's public security department, will fight against illegal activities such as hunting, killing, transporting, buying and selling endangered wild animals.

The crackdown started in February and will last until the end of this year.

The team will also guide the animals to their migration routes, habitats or breeding grounds.

The department will work with the bureau of ecology and environment, on forestry, market regulation and transport.

The ecologically important Qinling Mountains are home to a huge variety of plant and wildlife such as giant pandas, golden monkeys and crested ibis. Enditem
