RAMALLAH -- The Palestinian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday summoned the Hungarian envoy in protest over the opening of a representative commercial office in East Jerusalem.

Amal Jado, assistant foreign minister on Europe affairs, met with Csaba Rada, head of mission of the office of Hungary, to express the Palestinian anger over the Hungarian diplomatic move, according to a ministry press statement. (Palestine-Hungary-Jerusalem)

TEHRAN -- Iran urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to address what it called Israeli threats against Iranian oil shipments, Press TV reported on Wednesday.

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Ministry of Defense said Wednesday that Iraqi security forces are on high alert and prepared to defend the borders from the threat of Islamic State (IS) militants.

"Daesh (IS group) are drawing their last breath in the Syrian town of al-Baghouz, and our forces are closely observing the situation and ready for any emergency," a statement from the ministry quoted Abdul Hussein Swadi, commander of the Army's 8th Division, as saying. (Iraq-Syria)

JERUSALEM -- U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Wednesday, and vowed to increase pressure against Iran.
