BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ending at 3,176.82 points, up 0.2 percent.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.07 percent lower at 10,260.36 points.
The combined turnover on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourse stood at 1,038.48 billion yuan (about 155 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1,043.98 billion yuan the previous trading day.
Energy shares rose across the board. Shanxi Meijin Energy Co. jumped 5.02 percent to close at 10.66 yuan per share. Yanzhou Coal Mining Co., one of the country's biggest coal producers, added 0.27 percent to end at 11.14 yuan.
Bucking the trend, hotel industries posted lackluster performances. Shanghai Jinjiang International Hotels Development Co., one of the top hotel chains in China, decreased 2.91 percent to close at 29.66 yuan per share.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, fell 0.38 percent to close at 1,754.16 points. Enditem
