ANKARA -- Turkey's Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) ruled early Wednesday to recount some votes in eight districts of Istanbul following the ruling party's appeal over Sunday's local elections results.

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) filed on Tuesday appeals on poll results in 39 districts in Istanbul, which showed its candidate Binali Yildirim would lost the post. (Turkey-Istanbul-Elections)

BEIRUT -- Foreign Minister of Venezuela Jorge Arreaza slammed on Wednesday the interference of the United States in his country.

GAZA -- Israeli army drones carried out Wednesday an airstrike on a group of Palestinians who were launching arson balloons from eastern Gaza Strip into southern Israel; no injuries reported, security sources in Gaza said.

The sources told Xinhua that the Israeli army drones fired a missile at a group of young men in eastern Gaza that were launching arson balloons from the area into southern Israel, adding that no injuries were reported. (Gaza-Israel-Airstrike)

ANKARA -- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday that his country will not step back from the deal to buy the S-400 missile defense system from Russia, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

"The S-400 deal is a done deal and we will not step back from this," Cavusoglu said at a think-tank forum in Washington, where NATO foreign ministers gathered for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the security bloc. (Turkey-S-400-Russia) Enditem
