KHARTOUM -- Six people were killed during protests in Khartoum on Saturday and Sunday, announced Sudan's Interior Minister Bushara Gumaa Aro on Monday.

TRIPOLI -- The clashes in Libya's capital Tripoli between forces of the UN-backed government and the eastern-based army have forced 2,800 to flee their homes, a UN official said Monday.

"The escalation of violence in and around Tripoli has caused the displacement of more than 2,800 persons, while blocking emergency services from reaching casualties and civilians, and damaged electricity lines," Maria Ribeiro, UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya, said in a statement.
