TEHRAN -- Iran's Mahan Air has launched direct flights to the Venezuelan capital Caracas, Press TV reported on Tuesday.

A number of Iranian Foreign Ministry officials as well as delegates from Mahan Air visited Caracas to discuss maintaining regular flights between the two countries, spokesman of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization Reza Jafarzadeh was quoted as saying. (Iran-Venezuela-Direct Flight)

ALGIERS -- Algerian parliament on Tuesday appointed Abdelkader Bensalah as the interim president, after the resignation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika last week.

According to the state-run ENTV television channel, 453 out of 487 parliament members voted for the vacancy of the president post, and named Speaker of the Council of the Nation Bensalah as interim president for a period of three months before electing a new president, in accordance with the constitution. CAIRO -- Four policemen and three citizens were killed and 26 others were wounded on Tuesday in a suicide bomb attack in Sheikh Zuweid city of Egypt's North Sinai province, Egyptian Interior Ministry said in a statement.

"The attack was carried out by a suicide bomber who is about 15 years old," the ministry said, adding that a six-year-old child was among the seven killed. (Egypt-Sinai-Suicide Attack)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Armed Forces would spare no effort to combat the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces in West Asia, Iran Armed Forces Headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.
