Produced by the NCPA and directed by internationally known director Hugo De Ana, the performance recreates scenes from the Swedish court and the city of Stockholm during the reign of King Gustav III in the 18th century.

The Giuseppe Verdi opera tells the tragic story of the King, who falls in love with his friend's wife and is killed.

-- Broadway musical "School of Rock," Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center, 7:30 p.m.

Based on the Hollywood film of the same name, the musical tells a story of wannabe rock star Dewey Finn, who disguises himself as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. When he discovers his students' musical talents, he enlists his fifth graders to form a rock group and conquer the Battle of the Bands.
