BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares ended mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closing at 3,241.93 points, up 0.07 percent.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.01 percent lower at 10,435.08 points.

The combined turnover of stocks in the two indices stood at 899 billion yuan (about 133.96 billion U.S. dollars), expanding from 840 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Losers outnumbered gainers by 802 to 613 at the Shanghai bourse and 1,235 to 847 in Shenzhen.

Biological products maker Jiangsu Sihuan Bioengineering Co. Ltd. led the gains, up by the daily limit of 10 percent to 4.57 yuan per share.

Shares of automobile manufacturers also demonstrated strong performances, led by Tianjin Faw Xiali Automobile Co. Ltd., which saw its share price jump 10 percent to 6.22 yuan.

Enterprises in semiconductor industries continued to buck the upward trend. HC SemiTek Corporation fell by the daily limit of 10 percent to close at 8.34 yuan per share.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was down 0.83 percent to close at 1,726.64 points Wednesday. Enditem
