BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- China's online fundraising platforms helped charity organizations across the country collect over 3.17 billion yuan (472 million U.S. dollars) of funds in 2018, up 26.8 percent from 2017, the People's Daily reported Thursday.
The 20 platforms, designated by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in accordance with the charity law, released 21,000 fundraising projects for more than 1,400 charity organizations and received more than 8.46 billion views and donations last year, the newspaper said.
People born after 1980 have become the mainstay of online donations, and those born after 2000 have begun to take part, the newspaper said. Enditem
