KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese army has ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and his government, Sudan's Defence Minister Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibn Auf said in a long awaited statement aired live on official Sudan TV Thursday.

He further said that a transitional military council would be formed to rule the country during a transitional period of two years. (Sudan-Bashir)

BEIRUT -- The Chinese government on Thursday offered a donation to the Lebanese government for the construction of a new conservatory in the country.
