BEIJING, April 17 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of shows, concerts, exhibitions and other events in China on Wednesday.

-- Play "Rhinoceros in Love," Fengchao Theater, 7:30 p.m., Beijing.

The play tells the tale of a rhino feeder, Ma Lu, who is in love with his pretty neighbor Ming Ming, for whom he does everything he can. The rhinoceros, with poor vision, serves as a metaphor in the story, symbolizing those who are deeply in love and blinded by the sadness of unrequited love. It has been staged for 20 years.

-- Play "The Golden Cangue," Beijing Century Theater, 7:30 p.m.

Adapted from the novella of the same name by Chinese writer Eileen Chang and directed by Hong Kong director Ann Hui, the theatrical production has received widespread acclaim since its debut in 2009. Set in Shanghai, it depicts the decadence of a merchant family.

The play is performed in Cantonese with Mandarin subtitles.

-- Sharing a Common Future - Exhibition of Treasures from National Museums along the Silk Road, National Museum of China, Beijing

Sponsored by the national museums of China and 12 other countries, the exhibition features selected cultural relics that display the diversity of civilizations along the land and maritime Silk Roads.
