SHENYANG, April 18 (Xinhua) -- A mountain fire that broke out in northeast China's Liaoning Province was basically put out at 6 a.m. Thursday, local authorities said.
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, efforts are still being made to prevent the fire from reigniting. More than 4,000 people have been dispatched to battle the fire.
The fire broke out near Qipan Mountain in the city of Shenyang at about 1:50 p.m. Wednesday and spread fast due to strong winds.
No casualties have been reported so far, and an investigation of the cause of the fire is underway. Enditem
