BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- China's security organs Thursday detailed three cases involving cyberspace information theft committed by overseas intelligence agencies.

Intelligence agencies of multiple countries and regions have carried out cyber attacks against China, targeting computers, emails, mobile smart gadgets, key information systems and infrastructure, according to official sources.

In one case, the office computer of a city government official surnamed Wang was controlled remotely by an overseas intelligence agency via a Trojan horse program, and several confidential topographic maps stored in the computer were stolen.

China's security organs are intensifying crackdown on cyberspace attack and espionage by overseas intelligence agencies to contain damage caused by such illegalities.

They also informed the public of a hotline and a website for reports of possible cases that may undermine state security. Enditem
