QINGDAO, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Naval delegations from over 60 countries Saturday began to arrive in the port city of Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, to join multinational naval events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy.

The events will be held between April 22 and 25 and a naval parade will be held in Qingdao and nearby sea areas and airspace on April 23.

A naval delegation from Fiji was the first foreign naval delegation to arrive at an airport in Qingdao at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, followed by naval delegations from Argentina and Peru.

Over 10 countries, including Russia and Thailand, will send vessels to join the events.

The events will serve as a platform for the participants to boost understanding and share experience on maritime security and cooperation. Enditem
