Shanghai crude oil futures hit five-month high

SHANGHAI, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Crude oil futures closed higher Monday on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.

The most active crude oil contract for June delivery was up 15.7 yuan (about 2.34 U.S. dollars) to close at 490.2 yuan a barrel, which hit the highest level in five months.

On Monday, the total trading volume for nine listed crude oil futures contracts on the exchange was 227,722 lots, with a turnover of 110.7 billion yuan.

China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investment, on March 26 last year. Enditem
