BEIJING, April 24 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of shows, concerts, exhibitions and other events in China on Wednesday:

-- Opera commission: "170 Days in Nanking"

Time: 7:00 p.m.

Location: National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Beijing

Set in 1937, the opera commission "170 Days in Nanking" commemorates the efforts of protecting lives during the Nanjing Massacre.

Co-produced by Jiangsu Cultural Investment and Jiangsu Performing Arts Group, the opera has been in production since December 2016. The production team is comprised of artists from 16 countries and regions.

-- Drama: "The Yellow Storm"

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: National Theater of China, Beijing

Adapted from Laoshe's work of the same title, The Yellow Storm tells tremendous life changes of residents living in the enemy-occupied areas of Peiping during the War of Resistance Against Japan.

Directed by Tian Qinxin, the drama has been staged in 38 cities including Taipei, Hong Kong, Macao, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

-- The Legend of Kung Fu

Time: 5:15 p.m. / 7:30 p.m.

Location: Hong Theater (Hongjuchang), Beijing

The performance tells the story of a young monk growing from innocence to an experienced and wise man by practicing martial arts and studying Zen.

This show, different from other Kung Fu shows, successfully combines storytelling with Kung Fu.

-- Enduring Memories of Hangzhou (Impression of West Lake)

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: No.86 Beishan Road, West Lake District, Hangzhou

The show is a large-scale on-water performance adapted from a performance displayed during the 2016 G20 Summit in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

In the performance, profound and abstruse Chinese culture is demonstrated by multiple arts like music, dance and visual effects.

With the theme "A brilliant show of Chinese culture to the world, a stunning performance of the real scenery," the show is aimed to bring the beauty of China to a wider audience. Enditem
