SHANGHAI, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Leading bourses and insurance companies from China and Switzerland signed two agreements on Tuesday for further cooperation in the capital market.

The two agreements are the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the SIX Swiss Exchange, and the Cooperation Framework Agreement between China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. and Swiss Re Group.

The MoU is a renewal of a previous one to strengthen cooperation and jointly explore the feasibility of promoting the listing cooperation between the two markets through depository receipts and other means, the Shanghai exchange said.

It said Switzerland is an important financial center in Europe. Strengthening cooperation with the Swiss capital market will help promote the two-way opening of China's capital market and explore a new model of cooperation between Chinese brokerages and overseas capital markets.

The SIX Swiss Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange have maintained close relations, Shanghai exchange said.

In May 2003, the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Swiss Federal Banking Commission signed an MoU on securities regulatory cooperation, laying the foundation for information exchange and cross-border regulatory cooperation.

In June 2015, the Shanghai exchange and the SIX Swiss Exchange signed an MoU to enhance bilateral collaboration, including the exchange of information and personnel, and joint development of products. Enditem
