Shanghai-based boat wins international regatta event held at Yangtze River mouth

SHANGHAI, May 12 (Xinhua) -- A Shanghai-based boat on Sunday won the 2019 Shanghai Cruise Port International Regatta, the first international yacht race held at the mouth of China's Yangtze River.

Over 70 participants from 16 professional and amateur teams competed in the two-day race, held on a 600,000-square-meter water track, downstream from the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal.

The teams come from six countries -- China, Australia, the USA, Italy, Japan and Norway, with J/80 their boat class.

Shanghai-based team Noahs Sailing Club, captained by Australian Stephen McConaghy and crewed mostly by Chinese, won the race. Chinese team ChinaOne Ningbo was ranked second, followed by Japanese team B.B. Marine. Enditem
